Beretta px4 storm .40 subcompact

I currently have a Ruger LCR .357 and want to get a semi automatic handgun. I have a chance to pick up the .40 for under $400 brand new. Is this going to fit want I want as a carry and a range gun or am I better off waiting for a 9mm full size handgun? Thank you for your input and advice.

Just my opinion, I prefer nothing smaller than a "compact" to be
a "range gun". The PX4 compact series is a great choice, for range and
carry.
I carry a Smith & Wesson M&P .40 compact, love the gun and find it
very accurate for me. Just another idea, and there are many good choices out there as you know.
regards,
SN

Be aware of two things in this transaction:

(1) A lot of people find .40 to have the most noticeable recoil among the major calibers. Shooting a 9 mm and a .40 from the same subcompact is likely to feel a bit different to you.

(2) The subcompact member of the PX4 lineup does not have a rotating barrel as do the compact and full-sized. The rotating barrel softens the recoil quite noticeably.

Ultimately it is your choice. Just be sure you know what you are buying.
