I need a good EDC/Bug Out Bag. Where?

Looking for a good bag with many pouches and pockets for an EDC/BOB bag.

www.countycomm.com has some decent bags, but I wanted to know if there were others and possibly others for less $.

Also, any sites I should check out regarding EDC and BUG out ideas?

Maxpedition bags are nice...I've got a Fatboy that I really like. However, if you're carrying it everywhere with you, it may stand due to being a little too "tacticool."

If you want the messenger/laptop bag look, you might just check e-bay or somewhere like zappos.com

5.11 Rush 24 is probably what I am gonna use for a Get Home Bag. Maybe the 72 for a true BOB.

My problem is deciding on color. I dont like black, but seems to be less conspicuous than foliage.

For a bug-out-bag, I found a alice pack w/frame at a gun show for $30. Stays in the trunk of my car and if I really ever need it I won't care how it looks.

+1 on the ALICE pack. Lots of room and you can get them cheap at a surplus store , gun show, etc.

Bug Out Bag Choice

Whatever works for you. It's like buying shoes. What I like you may not like. I will say this; color is very important. I use mine as part of what I carry on board a Plane (no goodies of course). ACU or MARPAT bad juju if you travel to say....Zaire, Kazahkstan, Georgia (Republic). Black, inconspicuous, but tough to find stuff inside, especially in low light. Too bad 5.11 doesn't offer a BOB with a Gray interior like some of their deployment bags. I go with OD or Coyote/Flat Earth. They "blend" better. I have a BOB (Blackhawk Enhanced Battle Bag ) I also keep a SHTF bag. That's a 5.11 Rush 72. My opinion though is, go somewhere you can A-B them. I get to Columbus, GA every now and then and I stop at Ranger Joe's.

I just keep a Camelbak Commander loaded up as a BOB.
