I have a S&W617, which is a 10-round revolver firing 22LR. It is a K frame sized gun, and I guess if S&W wanted to, they could make an N-frame with a slightly larger cylinder that would hold 11 or 12 rounds. I've never seen a revolver that holds less than 5 rounds nor any that holds more than my 10 round gun, but that's not claiming there aren't any. But anyone who thinks a revolver is pitiful is just showing his ignorance. My guess is that he is a new shooter who owns a Glock and therefore thinks any other gun must be crap because he chose what he knows is the best gun in the world, or some other nonsense like that.

Sounds like a semi-auto guy trying to convince a revolver guy that his revolver is an inadequate relic. And then some jumbled response from the revolver guy about high capacity revolvers???
Now, my position: Semi-autos are far more reliable than they were pre-Glock. And, if the revolver guys really believed that all you need is one shot, they'd be ditching their revolvers for derringers or at least the double-tap 45.....which they aren't. But, hey, Taurus and S&W make 8-shot .357's, some of which can actually be carried concealed. So for carry purposes, I don't see a whole lot of difference - whatever floats your boat. |
