powder question
i am looking for a powder that i can load 36 gr varmint grenades in a 22-250, and speer tnt 110 grain in a 7mm rem mag. i am not trying to shoot super fast and i won't be loading a lot of these. they are mainly for close shots to explode groundhogs. just looking for a powder that would work well in both to simplify the process a little.

Both Varget and IMR 4064 will work. Check this site out for specific charges: http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

Hodgdon H380 would do it, or IMR 4895.
4895 could get you to near, or over, 4400fps with the 36gr 22-250, H380 could get you near or over 4300. 4895 and H380 could get you over or around 3400fps with 110gr bullets in the 7mag

You need two, different powders.

my first thought was 4064. i only want to use one powder for both because i won't be loading a lot of these and one pound of powder will load both of these for me for quite a while.
i use h380 for my 22-250 with 55 grain nosler ballistic tip, but i wasn't sure if it would be good in a 7mm. |
