S&W factory Drilled and Tapped?

My father -in-law has a 629-3 S#bpl55xx. He wants to know if its one of the models that was factory drilled and tapped for a scope mount, but dosnt feel comfortable taking the rear sight off...and its not where I can put my hands on it.
can anyone tell by the serial number if its one of the factory tapped ones

Have Dad look at the bottom of the top strap, if there are holes there it is drilled and taped.

Good Luck & Be Safe
