Custom made digital round counter and timer
Here is a short video of a custom made round counter and elapsed timer. Let me know what you think. No my Garage is not that clean. If I was to turn the camera around you would see a pile of junk that takes up one car space.

Nice setup, would you mind sharing all the information and part numbers so someone could make one without to much trouble being you have done all the work.

The main componants are the counter and the Timer. Both are made by Omron.
Counter is H7EC-BL 20-40.00 on ebay Clock is H7ET 20.00- 40.00 on ebay Project box picked up at local electronics store. 9.00 each Standard momentarty contact buttons. Same as a doorbell button. (red Buttons) 2.00 for 2 Micro toggle is simple on/off toggle. 1.50 each magnetic door switch 7-8 dollars at local electronics store. Wiring is very simple. The hardest part was cutting the rectangular holes in the project box. ( I used a dremal tool with fiber reinforced cut off wheel.) If anyone is interested in making one they can contact me directly when they are ready to do the wiring and I will talk them through it. Like I said wiring is very easy and will take about 5 minutes consisting of 8 screw terminals on the back of the timer and clock. Hope this helps |

Kool project!!
Hey, that device is ingenious! The unit appears factory made! Maybe you should think about a side business; producing these things for the less inclined!

Thanks
Thanks for the kind words. The problem with making them would be the cost to the end user. Parts alone are about 100.00 making the finished project about 200.00

Very nice job. I'm sure that was also a great father/daughter project to boot!

it's a pretty slick little deal. I wonder how big a market there would be. I could do one with a 2-line LCD display - round count, timer and rate in rounds per hour all displayed. Probably wouldn't cost a whole lot.
I do that kind of stuff as a sideline business to support my hobbies. |

You know it seems that my 16 year old is very interested in designing things. She also seems to enjoy checking the FPS on our reloads and tracking the data. I am extremly happy that she is interested and focused and spending time in the garage with me!
