How To Keep A Secret Spot

I stopped by the farm down the road from my place that allows me exclusive access for hunting. The farmer and wife were cutting brush from a fence row. I gave the lady of the house a ham for letting me hunt their place. I dragged a couple of logs with the farmer. He stopped work to take me in back to show me where the deer were coming through. He loaded up all my stuff in the hay wagon so I wouldn't have to lug a bunch of stuff to my stand. We talked for a bit, then he left to allow me to hunt the remainder of the evening.

A little courtesy and a small gift at the right time will go a long ways to keeping a good spot. Of course, I've earned their trust by following their rules about property lines and off limit areas(around the horses) and shooting doe first...
