Broomhandle extractor late model

I finally found one; now, how to install? Do I need a gunsmith, or can I do it myself?

Thanks

The broomhandle extractor is its own spring. To remove, use a screwdriver to push up behind the front hook, while pulling forward out of engagement with the bolt. It is in this step that extractors are often broken which is why most folks will advise against removal unless necessary. If the hook is broken off, it may be necessary to lift the front end with a small screwdriver while pushing the back or the "wings" with another screwdriver or punch.

To install, bring the extractor back as far as possible and hook it under the lips in the bolt. Then hold the rear end down while lifting up on the front, and slip the extractor back into its slot.

Note, some of the extractors on the market are castings and may be more brittle than the originals, so extreme care is called for.
