best gun lock

what is the best "gun" lock avalable, (a gun safe is not viable for space reasons). a friend has come to the realization that she needs to secure firearms from her diminished capacity husband before someone gets hurt. (and I don't wanna call the cops on him for wandering around with a loaded firearm when he is out of it)

I am thinking some kind of cable arrangment, for semi auto Rifle, pistol, and revolver. but something that isin't going to break the bank either.

I'm not wild about trigger or gun locks, but it's this or sell them.

other options would also be appreciated.

Can't see where a locked gun would be any good for defence.

Can't schedule bad guy appointments.

Sooo....she should get rid of the guns or the husband.

Or rethink. If he dangerous with a gun, what about kitchen knives, skillets etc etc.?

I agree Sam, she needs to dump the guy, but thats not gonna happen. I've already told her that next time I see him "diminished" with a firearm I'm calling the cops. (he knows this as well) I'm just doing what little I can to help a friend through a tough time (I already offered to store the hardware, no go.) she doesn't want to get rid of her firearms, just keep him from hurting anyone with them. she did tell him that if someone breaks in when she isin't there thats just too bad. they can shoot him.

locking them up is best of a bad situation.

(I suspect that she is CCW. none of my business)
