first batch of ammo!

I just finished my first batch of .38s the other day and they turned out great! I used a light load with 3.8 gr of hp-38 behind a 125 gr rn plated bullet. Its great for plinking! I think I'm hooked on reloading!

Welcome to the hobby and congratulations on your first batch. Now you will spend the rest of your life wondering if this bullet or that powder would make a better load.

Here's a tip from someone who has bought, loaded and fired TENS of
THOUSANDS of plated bullets: don't go too light.
If anything, err on the side of too heavy.

If you load plated bullets with data meant for light lead bullet loads...you run risk of sticking them in the bore. Lead bullets offer MUCH less resistance than plated, and plated shouldn't be used with too conservative a load.

I love plated slugs, but I run them harder.
