Saiga 308, should I add a scope or.....?
I am new to this style of gun. I have a Saiga 308, should I add a scope or what are my other options? I might use it for prarie dog hunting or coyote hunting but mainly will just be using it for shooting for fun.
Also is it hard to find a bipod for it? |

I also have a RRA AR .223. I was thinking maybe put aa scope or something of that nature one one of the two but not both. Which would be more enjoyable/useful with a scope or other sight upgrade?

You want to use your .308 for coyote and prairie dog hunting buy you have a .223 already?...
Add a scope to your RRA for varmint hunting, that gun is much more suited for the job. What are the specs of your AR? |

I don't think a Saiga is accurate enough for prairie dog shooting, at least mine isn’t. Also, the scope mounts for those things are something like 3+ inches above the bore line. Impossible to get any kind of a check weld. I had a red dot sight on my Saiga, for about ten rounds then it came off.

sounds like scope on the 223 is the way to go. So no reflex or red dot on the 308 sounds like either?

A reflex or red dot would be fun on the Saiga, but I would put a magnified optic on the AR first.
I will ask again because you might have glanced over it, what are the specifications of your AR? (i.e., flat-top or A2 style upper? Barrel length? etc.) |

Well, it isn't quite a prairie dog gun, but it would work much better than a Saiga...especially one in .308
