Winchester 1892

Does anyone have a new winchester 1892 (Japanese) in .357 ?

I'm interested in shooting .38 spl and I would like to know if this rifle will feed and eject .38.

I have a Rossi 1892 which is OK, but I would like to upgrade to a better quality rifle.

Major 92 fan but no experience with the current (safetied) Winchester crop other than store handling. I do have the older Browning 92 - same Miroku factory and, save for the aforementioned lawyer stuff, I've heard the newer ones are the same quality/fit 'n finish.
Btw, you might have more responses in the regular rifle (bolt, lever etc) forum.

Easy fix. I don't know if your reload or not. But if you did. Why not just reload 357 brass to 38 specs. Than there would be no problem with shell length in your new rifle at all. My advice "Go get that new rifle."_

I'm looking for the same sort of rifle, though I'm not tied to the Winchester brand. So, I'll just set back and read.

I've never owned or even fired a 92 by any builder.
I have however been an observer at many SASS matches and have found that 92s come in three states. Out of the box, smooth and never need any help at all. Out of the box, rough and clunky. Off to one of the 92 specialists. Returned smooth and never again need help. Out of the box, no gunsmith and a source of extreme frustration forever.
A new shooter at out October 6th SASS shoot had bought a his and hers pair of identical 92s and this was their first time out. One ran like it was full of butter and the other like it was full of rocks.

My Rossi 92 was rough but I filled the action with white lithium grease and worked it a few hours. Its buttery smooth now. I can run cartridges through it with one finger.
