Rem 870 Grip Question

I was wondering if anybody knew of a WOOD pistol grip full stock for my 20ga 870. I like the looks of the factory wood but I also like the feel of full stock pistol grips. I've attached a pic of what I'm looking for, I just want a wood one.

Never seen one. 99% of folks who want that style want polymer

Btw have you used that stock? In a 14 inch entry gun it feels ok, for most other applications it feels akward. I had one am back to conventional stocks

Yeah, it sucks. I love the feel of that style. While all black is cool, I just don't want to convert my nice looking 870 to it. (Or whatever camo patterns you can get.) BTW. thanks for the super fast reply. As you can see i just joined here. Been lurking for a while though. lol

About as close as I have seen - they are thumbhole

Stock shapes

You can do things with polymer that can't be done with wood, polymer has no grain. It might be possible using a large piece of hard burl but you would end up throwing away a lot of good (expensive) wood once you make the cuts. The other possibility might be some sort of laminate stock.

You'll probably not see one done in one piece of wood. If you think about it, the detached grip would be perpendicular to the grain of the majority of the stock -- therefore, inherently weak. I suspect it could be done with a separate piece of wood and a mechanical connector. You'd end up with something looking like a Remingtonovich 870/47.

Boyd's makes a thumbhole laminate set that may work for your intended use, but you decide.....
