Once fired brass?
I'm looking for a good company to buy some once fired brass from. Who have you done business with and what were your experiences?

Great company, always get extra brass, clean, and mostly same headstamp.

Check Birdzman in the FS/FT forum. He is on this and other forums and his prices are very reasonable. I've not dealt with him directly, but feedback has been very good.

Once Fired Brass
Eliminate the middle-man. Check out www.govliquidation.com and click on the Uncle Sam's Retail Outlet popup. Right now they have .50 cal at $120.00 for 32 lbs. 250 pieces, thats less than 50 cents each, 7.62 (.308WIN) at $150.00 for 35 lbs. 1350 pieces 11cents each, and 5.56 (223REM) at $125.00 for 35 lbs. 2500 pieces 5 cents each. You gotta do the primer crimp process, but those prices INCLUDE SHIPPING to your door. I bought 10k of 5.56 last month, they got here in 5 days in 4 U.S.P.S. Flat rate boxes, I sorted them by headstamp, all were Lake City, mostly LC-08 and LC-09 but a few 02-07. About 150 had dents on the mouth but ALL were useable. You gotta check often, they have had 9mm in the past just not now.

^That only helps with certain calibers but it looks like a great source for the .308/.223 guys.
Gun shows are usually where I would look for once fired brass, but I don't require thousands of rounds for my hunting rifles. |

Good luck finding once fired 357Mag cases. I gave up and ordered new from starline.

So far .357 Mag and 10mm are the only calibers I've ever given up on and just bought new (Starline) brass.

Might want to give this site a look.......http://www.cheyennebrass.com/once_fired.asp
Appears they are out of .357 but have the .40 in stock. I haven't purchased from them (yet) but I am considering them for 9mm brass. |

Look in the "Buy, Sell and Trade" section of this forum. Birdzman has 40s&w for $30/1000. Good luck on 357 brass. Usually if you see it for sale on the www, it's gone before you can contact the seller.

Bought some .45 ACP from Cheyenne Brass. Asked before hand if it was all large primer, was told it was. Received the brass and sure enough, thirty percent was small primer. "Gee, how could that happen? We check for that, bla bla bla." So they tell me to send back the small primer stuff back and they'll replace it. I spend my time sorting, ask 'em for a shipping label. They tell me to throw it in a flat rate box and they'll reimburse me. (trust me....). I figure I'll just keep the lot, work up a load for the small primer stuff.....I'm done with Cheyenne.
BTW, as I found out, their prices are not the best nor is their quality. Had some 45 gap, .380's, 9mm and crushed cases (call it 20 pcs. out of 1000, 2%). In closing, I would deal with them again if their were zero other choices but not before. I certainly wouldn't recommend them. |

What caliber does your local city or county police department shoot? I have a friend that’s a county deputy and asked him to pick me up some .45acp next time they shoot for qualification. I gave him $50 and said get as much as you think is worth $50. He came back a few weeks later with two good sized boxes of once fired brass, I'm guessing close to 1000 pieces. That was 10 years ago and I still have plenty left that I haven’t even gotten to yet.

CFB,
Good prices but no 357 mag brass. By comparison, I guess I did okay on a deal this morning for 500 for $60 shipped. |
