night vision advice requested

I am looking to purchase night vision monocular or binoclar. Just looking for a solid quality item in the 400 to 500 range with decent magnification for this price range. Please respond with your opinons.

I bought my son a $200 on sale at cabelas.
it is only 1x, but it does work well..

surprising to see all the skunks and critters in the yard...
