Newbie question #3--I've been reading through the forum in general, hoping to stumble on tips and generally increase my knowledge, and I see a lot of people refer to "throwing a charge." I believe it refers to measuring a powder charge, but it's not clear.

I have a RCBS Uniflow powder measure, I set the measure to throw 5 gr.s of winchester 231, I weigh it and adjust measure till it throws 5 gr.s consitantly,
and check the THROWN powder weight every 20
rd.s or 50, to be sure its still at 5 gr.s.
throw is just another word for what your
powder measure DUMPS, a measured amount.

Ahhhhh....thank you. I'm sure you can see how strange it sounds, as if powder is being flung across the room by some kind of lever....

Don, don't EVER hesitate to ask a question. The only thing better than reloading is TALKING about reloading w/ someone who is anxious to learn.
