I assume you are referring to Federal Champion or Federal American Eagle and Winchester White Box ammo for general plinking/training use.
Both work great in all my 9mm pistols. |

I don't really know, honestly. For my shotgun, it hates Federal slugs. Only things that ever fail to extract or eject!

My local Walmart is getting them in tonight, and I have no idea which ones they are. But the clerk said the Federals were $21 and the Winchester was $13, if that helps.

I'd get whatever you can honestly. Right now Dick's Sporting Goods has no 9mm and is getting some at 10am tomorrow when I have to work till 6, meaning I can't go get ammo.

Whatever you can find is best, in these times. I have nothing available to me in 9mm.

Yes, get whatever three boxes you can get your hands on (assuming that your Wally's has the three box limit like ours do).

For carry I currently prefer Federal HST but have carried Winchester in the past.
For range use I used to prefer whichever was cheapest - now I prefer whichever is available. |

Over the years it's been very rare that any Federal ammo or components have let me down.

Those prices make my Walmart senses tingle. Sounds like $13 a box for 50 rds of WWB or $21 a box for 100 rds of Federal Champion. Yea..., I stalk Walmarts for ammo.
Buy the Federal. At least as good and a much better deal per round.

Buy what you can get and as much as you can get. For carry, as an old dinosaur, I still use the Fed BP JHP. I also have some Fed +P+ LE stuff but my experience didn't show much advantage in gel tests.

Not sure what plan on shooting them out of but the Federal Champions seem to be loaded slighty lighter than most of the others including WWB.

I'm shooting them out of a Glock 19. I wound up with the Winchester Target FMJ for $13.27/bx. Took 6 boxes with my wife there.

I just haven't had much luck from any Winchester so I tend to stay away regardless of caliber. Everything I own in 9mm, .45, .380 and .22 eats Federal all day, every day.
Except for my .22 Buckmark. CCI and Federal Target Match only. Hates the bulk stuff. Unless you have a picky 9mm, Federal should do you right. |

My 9s shoot winchester without difficulty and are reasonably accurate. I haven't shot federal 9s.
HOWEVER, if .22lrs are a comparison, federal bulk brick ammo is highly accurate and almost never has a whiff round. The last time I shot Winchester brick, they were less accurate, and you'd get about one round out of 50 as a wiff round. Make of that what you will. As noted, I'd get what you can right. When the bullet bubble passes in the next six months, get a box of both and make comparisons of your own. Each firearm has its own preferences. |

I shoot a lot of both - when I can get them. Both are good for range use. Never have problems with them. Winchester recoils a little harder; but, I like them both equally.
