Won a new Rifle
A friend of mine just called me and told me a one a new rifle in a raffle tonight. Quite honestly I'd forgotten all about the raffle but luckily held onto the tickets I bought (sometimes it pays to be a pack rat). Anyway I won a Savage Edge in .22-250 with a 3-9x40 Simmons scope. This will be the first Savage in my collection as well as being the first thing I've ever won in a raffle. I'm glad I held onto the .22-250 brass and dies that's been in my shop for 10 years. If anyone has any wisdom regarding this rifle I'd appreciate the info since I know almost nothing about Savage rifles and this model in particular. I'll post Pics when I pick it up.

The Savage Edge has gotten good reviews. Don't like Simmons scopes.

That's awesome! Congratulations! I'm very curious how you will like this rifle. I really like Savage and even their cheaper line, the Stevens rifles.
Something about the Edge/Axis line doesn't make sense to me. If Savage already has a cheaper line, why would they come out with another one? I guess as a consumer, I like having the option of rebarreling Stevens actions for relatively cheap and this seems like an attempt to phase out the Stevens. I don't know though.. I could be way off. I'm sure enjoy the combo though! |

Congrats, I own a Savage 110 in 06 and the thing is just flat out accurate. I mean you wouldnt think a rifle at that price range would be able to shoot with literally other more expensive brands but it does. And I mean consistently. And 22-250 is such a cool round, coyote, ground hog etc...
You'll have fun with that. PS: ive never won anything in my life so explain how it feels to win something.

I don't have any experience with the Savage Edge but it certainly looks like a great shooter.
I wish I would win something The closest I ever get is winning 4 quarters from the change machine when I put a dollar in.

the rifles good the scope is junk take it off and sell it to someone you dont like much and get you a better scope and i would do this before you shoot it that way you dont think the gun is junk.
