Scents by species/subspecies
This has always bothered me, so wanted to get some input.
Does mule deer urine smell like whitetail urine? (insert your own - "no, but it tastes the same" joke here) Does Rosevelt elk smell like Rocky Mountain elk? I don't fret the elk so much, I mainly use cover scents, not attractor scents, bu the deer thing really bothers me. I guess I need to throw in blacktails as well. Do the different species of deer (or subspecies, if that is more correct) use the same vocalizations, or will a whitetail grunt sound out of place? Everything on the market is geared for whitetails, so I feel like I am wasting money sometimes on a new call or scent. |
