Any one out there owned one or fired one? Lots of threads recently about how WW11 kit would compare today, so I thought I would throw this one into the mill.

I have held one of the ones with the swept back pistol grip, but never fired one. My impression - heavy, awkward and cumbersome. I thought it was too heavy (11+ pounds empty) for a rifle and too light for an LMG, but probably a good compromise for parachute and glider troops, which was its intended use.

I have done the same, held , but not fired. There is a mint one in the NZ Army museam, and being good mates with the Curator got to have a close look. Heavy, not really ergonomic, but weirdly cool.
