Loose fitting CCI primers - normal?

I usually load WLR primers into Win brass, and they are a very snug fit.

But, my new "project" involves loading CCI #200 Large Rifle primers into Rem brass. They offer almost no resistance when seated, using the same hand held Lee Auto-Prime tool I always use with my Win primer/Win brass projects.

The Rem brass I am using is from once fired .270 WSM Core-Lokt factory ammo.

Are CCI primers a thousandth or so smaller than Win primers?

Or...does Rem brass have larger primer pockets than Win brass?

Or ... is .270 WSM such a high intensity/pressure round that it loosens primer pockets?

Worry, or not to worry?

P.S. I am going to load Trail Boss powder so the pressures will be only about 25 to 30 thousand PSI - not enough to push loose primers out of the seats, I suppose. Or not?

For me its always been the other way around.CCI's =tight,winchester =looser.
I'd say those Rem brass has big pockets. Can you get Wolf or Tula primers?They tend to be bigger yet.You could always use some sort of glue to help hold the primers in,but not if they are unreasonably loose.

In the future, use Winchester brass. Remington brass has a history of being very soft, which is the main reason your once-fired has loose pockets. Check the fired rounds for black rings around the primer and then check the bolt face to make sure you aren't getting pitting.

Sounds like the factory loaded that lot to hot, it's not unusual to find WSM factory ammunition loaded so heavy the primer pockets open on a single (1st) firing. CCI & Federal primers are a full .001' larger (.211") than R-P and Winchester primers (.210". William
