308 listed COL not seating to cannelure.
I'm loading some 150 gr Horandy bullets in 308. Listed COL is 2.78". When I seat to this depth, the cannelure is well above the case mouth (by ~0.08"). Cases are all trimmed to 2.005". Normal?
(I'm gonna try a dummy and see if it chambers in the rifle. edit: dummy chambers just fine with no shortening) |

Unless you're crimping the bullets, it doesn't matter where the cannelure sits.
Just load it as though it didn't have one. |

That's about what I figured. Thanks!
(I try to be extra super anal when branching out into a new caliber. I figure the "bathtub curve" for me screwing up is at it's peak at the first attempt ) |
