H335 for .30 cal?

Anyone use H335 for .308 or .30-06 or 7.62x54? I have a source for the military version of it and he gets it for about 17$ per pound. Just wondering if it is any good for those calibers. He claims it meters extremely well.

I use it with my Garand loads - meters well, shoots well. It isn't the most popular powder for .30-06, but it will work very well for it.

I'd love to become friends with your source. I'd buy 30 lbs of powder on the spot.

Probably the highest velocity possible in 308 with 168 gr bullets will be with H335.

But lately for long range hunting at various temperatures, I have given up on anything but the temp stable powders like; AR Super comp, H4895, H4350 etc.

i used it for my .308 (ruger gsr) quite a lot, with good results using lighter bullets like 150gr and less. There are better powders for 30cal though.

Excellent for 308 and 223/5.56
Probably more versatile across bullet weights than any other powder in these calibers.
Certain powders may be better for heavy or light bullets, but almost every bullet weight can be handled.
WC844 is the military version WC= Western Cannon, a General Dynamics company.
$17 a pound = $136 for 8 lbs. I bought my 8 lbs for $85 plus HazMat and shipping spread over a large order. I think $17 a pound is excessive.

I recommend the military Spec primers: CCI #34 LR and #41 SR

I use WC844 the Canister version of H335. I shoot it in .308win, 30-30, 223, 7.62x39. I dont like it in bigger cases.

I also found it to be a good powder for cast bullet loads in 7.62x39.

Where are you getting your powder? Is it a secret? I have not seen any for some time.
