I was wondering if I could could get some suggestions as to what powder you think would work be with a lighter bullet in a 7mm Rem Mag. I'll probably start out with some 139gr. Hornady BalTip bullets. What powders should I try? I've heard that R-22 is good. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm very interested in the answers that will be given for this as I am searching for a better set of powders for my 7mmRM. I would suggest IMR-4831-SC The short cut helps it meter a bit better than the original 4831, but I believe that the load data is identical. IMR-4350 may be another good option.

I have had good luck with H4831 and N205. Even with 139 gr bullets I find the 7 Mag needs slow powders. I haven't used the newer powders, but I would stick with those which have burning rates as H4831 and slower. Jerry
