Vampire Hunters

I know in the old days in europe, every town had their own vampire hunters/killers. They were paid and supported by the local town just like the "sherrif".

My question is why didn't they use a musket loaded with wooden bullets or wooden buckshot to do the job. you could have taken a wooden slug hollowed it out and poured lead in the hollowed area.

Why didn't people just hunt vampires for sport?

Would you be allowed to hunt them during the day or would that be un sportsmanlike?

This falls under the same rule regarding zombie posts, dinosaur hunting posts and other nonsense. Do yourself a favor and don't do it except on Halloween.

I think in florida the legal vampire season is one day only. it is the night of the summer solstice so legal shooting hours are limited. The permit is expensive and the firearm must be labeled for wooden projectiles or sterling silver bullets. if you hunt them in october it is a felony poaching charge and they will come after you...

Sheriffs were not paid and supported by local towns, and AFAIK no town had a designated or paid vampire killer.
