Another firearm used for good

I'm posting this partly because it counters the anti-gun crowd and partly because I lived, for a time, near this town. Good article.

Is five shots enough? No, not if you need more.

Sounds like she did fine.

Where was Dad?
The article said he was home.

She called her husband... Doesn't say she called out to her husband...

My wife is close to trained not to open the door to a stranger... but it is hard to build that into a habit when strangers just don't come a knockin' here too often...

That cheers the heart right there. I would much rather read that than:

Chapman said it appeared to be a justified shooting of a woman defending her home and children.
It "appeared to be" justified?

Fer cryin' out loud, it looks like the Trayvon Martin case has everybody in Florida afraid to say anything about anything. The guy broke into the house with a crowbar, she retreated into a crawlspace (probably an attic), and finally shot the guy when she had nowhere else to go. It just can't get much more justified than that, IMHO.

The shooting was in Walton County, GA. Up near Atlanta. GA is a Castle Doctrine state.

Also, a Deputy on Fox Five said that the robber had multiple past convictions.

GA lady has changed the gun control debate. Good FOX News video. If I were the LEO, I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face!

She has, sort of, but... the AJC's latest update was quick to point out that the revolver used by the mom would not be affected by any of the so-far-proposed restrictions.

They kind of glossed over that she used all six at point blank, and the BG was still able to leave under his own power. If he had a gun, or a friend, the outcome could have been very different.

I didn't think it glossed over at all. This example shows why you need a high capacity mag. You know it, I know it, but the average anti-gunner has never thought about it.
