I'd like to increase the length of the forcing cones on my 3 870 barrels.
Although I'm a fairly skilled amateur gunsmith I'd like to discuss the possible problems I might encounter. I'll be using Brownell's Long Forcing Cone Reamer and following their instructions. How much recoil reduction can I expect if any? |

Hans vang comp package i believe will reduce recoil approx. 15% I think this is only with lengthening cone as porting would only reduce muzzle flip, I also heard that you develop a feel for how much to lengthen with the tools your using, after a while. Hope this helps.

I had this done on a coupla 870s. I dunno about recoil reduction, but patterns did improve.
The only time 12 ga recoil bothers me is sighting in with slugs at the bench,so maybe I'm not the one to ask.... |
