Short answer....anywhere but federal buildings. The gun buster sign no longer has a legal penalty. There are a few state building that have a waiver, just read the sign before you enter. If it's a regular gun buster, carry on. Also, open carry is fine as well.....given you don't venture into Johnson county.
Here is the link from the nra http://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/state-laws/kansas.aspx Here is the link for the state ag http://ag.ks.gov/public-safety/concealedcarry Also, no knife laws. Auto knives are fine. |

At first I thought I might have a problem with Johnson City. I will be near Junction city, not Johnson City

I will be going through Kansas City on my way west, I expect to pass on by before anyone knows I'm there. I'm hoping to make my grand daughter's HS graduation. She is my oldest grand kid. My son retired out of the Army from Ft. Riley and stayed in the area.

Concealed is fine, even past normal buster signs. The ones that you can't carry past are the ones that are a larger red lettered white sign. Those are the extension sign. Those places have an extension to put security in place. Those and federal buildings are a no-go. There are a few cities/counties that are bucking the state law of allowing open carry. Johnson is one of them. There is a bill that is being voted that wool not allow cities/counties to preempt state law. I live in the Wichita area. Open carry is fine here. One thing I will say about Kansas, I do like the proactive 2a work that had been done. Banks, churches, even schools that don't have the extension, concealed is okay. Plus, Kansas has reciprocated with many other states.
