When I was in my twenties, I went to the emergency room when I hurt my hand. I had been trying those spins you see in westerns with my six inch Luger. I made the intern write down the injury as 'gunslinger finger'.

Today I woke up and my arm and shoulder was really sore, and I couldn't figure out what I did. Rode my horse. Shot my new Springfield .45. Nothing I haven't done before. And then I remembered...

I cleaned the Springfield! It took forever for me to get the slide to go back and stay put.

That stupid slide has given me Gun Cleaning Arm!!!

Once when I did private security I had a need for a rapid draw. I had chased a burglar from a site but lost him when he went between 2 houses. I returned to the original site and his partner came out a door in front of me. I drew my 4" S&W 686 so fast I don't remember anything but gripping the gun and aiming it at the suspect. The police arrived on scene about a minute later. The next day my elbow was sore. It stayed sore for 3 days. I guess I had "Quick Draw Elbow" or "QDE".

Along with "reloaders elbow" from pulling the press handle too much.

HAve you ever held onto that bullet just a hair to long during the seating process on a single stage reloading press? I call the resulting injury "PRESS THUMB".

Had a piece of brass get between my IBA and bare skin on convoy live fire. Figured it'd be worse to bring the muzzle of the rifle inside the truck and catch that nifty tire checker bat the DS carried. Still got a scar from it.

I am going to have to print this out and take it to the doctors with me on my next visit. I am not a hypochondriac, but I do believe i have/had several of these afflictions.

Right now I am suffering from withdrawal, as I have not been able to do much shooting. Now what would we call that?

Guys, you may not get this, but when your fingernails are too long, and you rack your slide, you end up shredding the skin on the top part of your thumb where your nails somehow raked across it.
Lesson learned. No more long nails. Problem solved. Problem staying solved.
