New Ideal for a Match

I just came back from warming up my tractor for some mail box harvesting. About a foot of fresh snow, "0" degrees and 15 MPH Wind.

Got me thinking of Stalingrad or the Winter War.

There are lots of Mosins and Mauser's out there, I'm thinking on putting on a match with conditions like today, where as all you get is an As Issued Mosin or Mauser, ammo, and what ever cloths you can wear. No mats, just you and your rifle, firing from 100 to 300 yards. Of course no snow plows prior to the match.

Wonder how many takers I'd get?

Stalingrad had buildings, plenty of them.
Do it from inside, through windows and door ways.
The defenders probably had campfires going, too.
They might have been hard pressed, but they were human.
Just a thought.

I'd try it, as long as the "cloths" included heavy fleece and wind proof outer shells, and 1,000 grams of Thinsulate in my boots!

To cold for me. I guess I will pass for now, unless you could get North Face to co-sponsor the event.
