Shell plates for reloading .50AE- Will .44 plate work?

I'm looking at reloading .50AE, and was wondering Hornady sells different shell plates for .44 and .50AE?

I'd like to order the dies and shell plates in the same order for my LNL AP, but it seems like the .44 plates should work as .50AE has a rebated rim the same size as the .44 plates I already have.

Anyone try this already?

Just a guess, but probably the 44 shellplate lacks a needed bevel the 50AE plate has.

Thanks for the help. I finally got a chance to generate some brass last night and tried it in the .44 plate and it seems to work fine, so I'm going to order up just the dies.
