I'm like Magnum, I've carried every handgun I've owned (in 9mm or above). But I tend to favor two of them right now.
Weekday and Saturday gun = Ruger KP97D .45ACP Sunday-go-to-meeting gun = Kahr K9 9mm |

What for a large frame .45?
To those of you lugging a full-size 1911, can you suggest a holster? I ask because a .45 Colt (that I've put somewhere well over 5,000 rounds through--mostly my own handloads) is all I have. And now I find myself living in a carry state. For answering the door in a bathrobe at 1 A.M. I've always had a leather Bianchi X2000 Phantom shoulder holster, but I'd like to hear other ideas.

In order from most carried...
Keltec P32 (most of the time) Taurus M85UL (outdoors) Kimber Compact (winter) I do not feel confident concealing the larger guns. The most the vests I see are usually too tactical looking. Nothing says dork like a fanny pack. I carry the Keltec using two methods. Attached clip on on the waistband or in a Michaels pocket holster which I modified to carry an extra mag. tjg |

Denfoote, doesn't that say "28" on that glock slide, as in a .380 auto model?

Thanks to kalvan, tcdrennen and edward429451 for your replies. In following up on your leads I somehow came across this. There is no particular point here except that even though we're talking the full handgun spectrum, it seems there is a lot more variety out there than I ever imagined!!! Again, thanks.

Started out with an HS2000 in a Blade-Tech rig. My current setup is a Kel-Tec P11 in a cheap Uncle Mike's pocket holster during work hours and a Glock 30 in a G-Code Comfort Carry IWB (got it today, thank you Gunner's Alley!) while on my own time. A P3AT will be joining carry rotation after I get around to buying one.

One or two SIG P210-6 in Bulman's AIWB and/or HSH3 in black shell cordovan, or Mitch Rosen's 5JR in black cowhide. Every now and then, a MAB P-15 in an approximately fitting Galco belt slide.

Most of the time a Kahr K9 9mm. Other times it’s a Taurus PT945 .45 ACP or a Glock 29 10mm. In the woods it’s always the Glock. A Don Hume IWB H715-M for all three. Though in just shorts it’s the Kahr in a Smartcarry holster.

Glock 36 in a DeSantis Top Cop paddle holster or fannypack (shorts/Tshirt)
Glock 19 in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard belt holster or fannypack Sig P220 in a Safariland paddle holster (less frequently) and... S&W 686 4" custom in an Old El Paso Saddlery open top hand tooled leather Street Combat holster. (heavy, impractical, winter coat type of thing, but I still like it once in a while). Hope for the best, but plan for the worst! |

CZ 2075 RAMI in .40 caliber or a CZ P-01 in 9mm. Patiently waiting for the CZ P-01 in .40 caliber (the P-04?).

1911's of various sizes......all in .45 ACP
First was a Government, then a Commander, then a steel Officers, then a LW Officers, now a Colt CCO. Still love my old Government and pack it from time to time.
I second the Milt Sparks Versa Max....have one for my Officer's/ParaLDA Companion, and my Colt CCO. Hides very nicely. I have a well worn Summer Special for my Government, buy the Versa max distributes the weight better. The Jay frame Smiths are the wheelgun to beat...nice old Bodyguard, MR DFS!! Jercamp45 |

Same answer I gave for "What's your favorite ...": I carry a 5" Springfield 1911 every day. Through 5 years of practice and training, it has never failed me.
