I always carry a pocket knife with spring assist opening. It is not intended as a SD weapon. I use it to open packaged boxes, cut rope or string, and cleaning my fingernails.

If my pants are on I have a Knife. I don't always have a gun on me but I feel naked without a knife.

I do not
I voted no. I have a small lock blade but I do not carry it often. I just never think about it.

I carried a knife since I was a cub scout for about 52 years also. When I was in 4th grade I got my 1st male teacher,Mr.Shank, and the 1st week of school he asked if there were any cub scouts in his class.A couple of us raised our hands and he asked if we had our pocket knives with us,I raised my hand and he asked if he could see it.He opened it up and felt the blade and said that it was sharpe and told me to keep it that way because "ya can't cut nutin' wit a dull knife boy"Also,my dad would always ask me"boy do you have your knife?'and I would answer"Dad do I got my pants on?"

Voted no here also, I do usually have a small pocket knife on me, but it's not for SD. Just for opening packages, cutting string, wire ect.

I carry one of those baby swiss army knives. I figure everyone in Switzerland carries one and nobody messes with those guys so I should be safe.

I also carry a Swiss Army knife. It is a tool, not a weapon.

Who knows what I would ever need a knife for. But, Yes - I always carry a knife.
To me it's part of the concealed carry package. I guess I would use it for self defense if I had to. Or, if I ever had to cut a seat belt or something. I like to have one just in case. You never know what the day might throw at you. |

I sometimes (though rarely) carry a knife but it has nothing to do with CC or SD. I almost never need one, so I almost never carry one and it's certainly not the end of the world if I need it and don't have it.

I carry a knife everyday. Not intended as a weapon, but all my knives are more than capable of filling that role if they have too. Still my knives are tools I use about everyday for something. Mostly opening mail.

I always carry a knife with me. I started as a teenager, and just always have one, not as a weapon, just as an incredibly useful tool. If I should need it as a weapon, so be it, but it is at the bottom of the list of intended purposes for carrying a blade.

I always carry my small stockman 4 blade Henckels pocket knife. When at work I also have a Gerber multi-tool. Neither is a weapon IMO. I do have a CCW, so I voted just a gun.

Anyone else see the irony in the anecdote about "Mr. Shank" asking the fourth graders to show their knives?

Heck, I remember back in the early 90's... I was working on a school art project(probably 5th or 6th grade) and I brought a drill bit from home to do some of my wood texturing stuff with. Teacher saw it, told the principal and I was suspended for 3 days! I've carried a knife every day since I was probably 7 years old... except for at school... that tradition continues to this day. If I do happen to somehow forget it... I agree... it's a terrible feeling... like leaving home without your cell phone... It's amazing we ever survived as a species without cellular phones. meh.

I feel the same as Sam06. Always have my knife and on the rare occasion that I forget it, I'll go back home to get it.

yes but not concealed...always have a knife and a lighter...as well as a gun
Knife works much harder every day than the gun but two different roles...but the knife could back up the gun ..the gun never backs up the knife...think about shooting open box's...
