loud action on suppressed 10/22

my toy is very quiet with a tac-67 and aguila 40 gr. subsonics, the loudest thing by far is the action. i understand that i need to make or buy a bolt buffer for the rear, but would any kind of coating on the chamber face dampen the clank of the bolt closing without causing problems?

Having once "played" with a friends suppressed .22, I think you'll find that no matter what you do, there's still gonna be alot of noise produced at the action. Only solution is to stop the autoloader function with some mechanism, or use a bolt gun.

I know what you mean, if I closed slide on my Buckmark in practically any size room with people in it, they would hear.

I don't remember where I saw this at, but I remember seeing a kit that will convert a 10/22 into a bolt gun. I actually never really cared much about the loud action when I shot a suppressed 10/22 loaded with 60 grain SSS ammo. But of course I was not hunting with it and I was wide out in the open.

What makes a lot of noise in a 10/22 is the bolt stop, change it to a soft plastic rod and most of the action noise goes away.

Look at the weaponkraft buffer, or head over to rimfirecentral.com and see what other guys are doing.

The bolt action is realy not that much on 10/22.
I understand you want to get 0 noise; then you need to use a 77/22!
