VORTEX flash hider
I have noticed an interest in a company's new design in flash hider technology.
I guess some American G.I.s are having the Vortex flash hider sent over to them in the middle east and installing them on their weapons. The designer claims (I have seen a video) that the flash is 99 percent eliminated. What I would like to do is put one on one of my rifles. The questions I have are: 1. Can you get one in stainless? 2. Will having the barrel cut back the length of the Vortex flash hider effect the accuracy for 100 yrd shooting? 3. Is it legal (Calif.)? 4. What is required to intall one the right way? |

1. Yes. Here.
2. If the crown of your barrel is not damaged, it shouldn't. However, since there are numerous factors that contribute to accuracy, it wouldn't be unheard of if your POI shifted ever so slightly after installation. If it did shift, it would remain permanent until you removed the flash hider, at which point the POI should return to where it was originally. 3. Yes, provided you either have a bullet button installed, or your gun complies with the restrictions on no more than two "restricted features." 4. A wrench and a steady hand. A torque wrench is preferred, but not required if you're careful.

SKYYR...
Right on the info. I am going to have the rifle (580 Ranch) sent out and have the work done as soon as I get the Vortex. |
