Accurate Arms No. 7 for .357 mag.

Is anybody using this powder for .357 magnum reloads? I will be using Hornady XTP bullets, in 125 grain and 158 grain. Winchester 296 seems to me has too much flash.

I've tried it and it works OK. Velocities are not as high as with H110 or 296 but the flash is a lot less. Recoil is reduced too.

#7 is a good choice in .357 Mag. It performs best in all calibers I've tried (9mm, .357 mag, .44 Mag & .45 Auto) with higher pressure loads, as in don't use it as a "light target" powder. There are many other powders better suited for that. I've experienced the best results loading at "near max" charges as published by Accurate Arms in 9mm & .357Mag. .44 Mag and .45 Auto are OK but not as good performance wise I've discovered. #7 in .45 Super on the other hand is an excellent choice. It's a great metering powder to boot. Hope this helps.
