would you thread a Win Model 70?
Would you thread the end of the barrel to accept a muzzle device on a Model 70 in 30-06?
I have to check as I dont have it in my hands yet, but I dont think it is a pre-64. But it is over 30 years old. Is there collectors value to it? We'd hate to see a premium rifle 'ruined' by external mods. But if it is 'just a shooter' then OK. Not that the owner will ever sell it, but just on principle would preserve any collector's value if it had any. C-

I would put any post-64 Model 70 in the "shooter" category. Some folks wouldn't even rate them that high.

I could be wrong! but all the post 64 guns I looked at had a G at the beginning of the ser#. The pre 64s did not.

yeah
actually, it looks like the one in question is a post-war, pre-64. so the owner says there willbe no threading.
Thanks for the replies all the same. C-
