Where are all the Ruger bx-25 mags?

Hello! Recently I purchased a ruger 10/22. I have not fired it yet but plan to in the next few days. I use it for my primary home defense weapon, but I also keep a 12 gauge loaded in my closet. I have the standard 10 round rotary magazine but want to purchase a 25 rounder for my 10/22. Tis gives me more ammunition to store in case of a defensive situation.

Also, what do you guys recommend as far as defensive ammo for a ruger 10/22. Something like a CCI mini mag HP, stinger or velocitor. I have been watching some ballistics test on youtube but still can't seem to find an accurate answer.

Thanks

There's a gun store near me selling them for $90 each.

I bought three in December when I got my 10/22 TD for $25 ea. Glad I did.

Be patient, this will blow over soon enough.

My 10/22's work well with the BX-25's. So far any and all plinking ammo feeds well and my one 10/22 I keep loaded in the corner I have CCI Velocitors in the BX-25 loaded in it. The Velocitors feed well, no probs so far. Your mileage may vary, test it out before using for SD. I like the idea of 12GA for SD/HD better!

Most of them have been bought by the rest of the 10/22 owners! You may want to try other hi-cap mags for it like the Butler Creek or Champion. it might be a while til you find the BX-25 mags back in stock.

On a side note, I suggest making the shotgun a primary HD weapon and the 10/22 as a secondary. Shotgun shells are proven to be more effective than 22lr. Just my humble suggestion

As a substitute for the BX-25 the Tri Mag is not a bad alternative. You can have 31 shots with just a simple mag eject, twist, and reinsert the mag. I was blessed with the availibility of some sale priced BX-25s from Midway in late December, and also picked up several 10 rounders from Sportsman's Warehouse. At the same time I ordered a trimag, and actually the rifle handles better with it than the 25 rounder. Still, I like the BX-25. Get a Trimag and some 10 rounders, and just wait for the BX-25 to get back to normal.

How about 20?

You can make your own by buying two 77/22 mags and glue them bottom to bottom. That is my usual set up when shooting from the bench. ..

Around here, during a thity day period, I saw the BX-25, go from $25.00, then $50.00 and last week, $75.00. Just wait for the insanity to pass and it will and the price and availability will get better ....

Be Safe !!!

You should check out these HC3R mags. They are quite a set up. 25 rounds in the mag and 20 extra carried in the mags storage area with a stripper clip for quick loading and cheaper than the BX25 and more readily available.

A better question is where's all the 22lr ammo? do people really think they're going to ban 22lr ammo or any ammo for that matter? I blame paranoid gun owners and especially preppers for hoarding anything firearms they can get there hands on. They'll stockpile this ammo forever and probably never shoot the vast majority of it if any at all. Meanwhile I can't find any ammo or reloading components to take to the range and have some fun with.

There's a boatload on Gunbroker.

Around my neck of the woods, it's all cleared out.

I've had 2 on BO from Midway for a couple months. Maybe someday. Says they expect them in April. We'll see. My bullpup needs a couple more.

I always wanted a BX-25 mag but never got around to buying one. Thought I missed out with all the talk of bans. I ordered 2 late Jan from http://shopruger.com/10_22-BX-25-Mag...uctinfo/90361/
They were back ordered. I received notice that they shipped today. $30 doesn't seem too bad now. Get on the back ordered list and prepare for a wait.

I received shipment of 3 BX-25 mags and 3 mini-14 20 round mags last
week from ShopRuger.com. It took six weeks for them to fill the order. Frankly,I was surprised to see the the email telling me they had shipped
