I shot the M1 during training (not mine) but we never had to attempt a reload until all rounds were fired.
Can you "top off" the M1's magazine before it's emptied? Sorry if it's a stupid question. TIA |

As long as the hammer is cocked, you can top off the magazine.
On a side note, a neat feature on the Benelli's is the ability to eject the chambered round without another round loading from the magazine. Again, hammer needs to be cocked for this to work. Makes slug select very easy. |
