2 reasons:

1. Guns continue to function at peak performance for a longer period. Or even get better over time. You can ALWAYS tell the difference between a new car and a 5 year old car... not so with a gun.

2. Guns have a MUCH lower cost of maintenance. When a car gets older, the repairs get pricier. With a gun, that's not the case.
