Ruger Mark 3 "rail" question RE: red dot scope

This is a great site and I'm learning a lot. I've gotten my first pistol a new Ruger Mark 3 hunter with fluted 6 7/8' barrel. I'm planning to get an ultradot matchdot scope for it. My question is, the seller asked me what kind of "RAIL" I had. Hmmm... I'm guessing that I'll have to buy one right? Could anyone advise me on this please. Sorry for the dumb question. Thanks for your time. Bill

Did you buy your Ruger new? If so it should have come with a weaver rail and screws.

From my understanding, not every MKIII comes drilled and tapped for the rail or maybe it was not including the rail...
If drilled and tapped and no rail was included, call Ruger for this...

Or for silver tone...

MKIII adjustable sight models are drilled and tapped and come with a scope base.

I too am a bit confused as this "Hunter" definitely comes drilled and tapped and Weaver base. In fact, the Ruger logo is stamped into the base. It also comes with fiber optic sights and boat trailer lock.
Go to their website and you will see all the specs and sight details.
Again, it's a standard Weaver base and good luck !!!

Be Safe !!!

Seems the OP didn't know to use the term NIB or LNIB as he bought a trade in unfired MK sans rail...

In that case I'd call Ruger to get one.
