Anyone used Uncle mikes instructor belt?

I need a belt for ccw and I'm looking at the Uncle Mikes Instructor belt and the Wilderness instructor belt. Wondering if the Uncle Mikes is good or should I go with the Wilderness or something else? The U.M. is half the price but I don't want it if it's going to tear up or not work well. It has some good reviews on Midwayusa.

I'm not really dead set on these but would prefer a fully adjustable like these.

1.5" for secure carry

Gunners Alley, great-service guys, Hume belts for low cost. But they're made of cow; I only use belts made from creatures.

Quick? Dillon has Rosen belts.

Brownells offers numerous choices.

i cant compare it to others but ive had an uncle mikes instructor for a couple of years and it looks brand new. Granted i just use it as carry and outdoors belt, i havent jumped out of a chopper with it but so far so good.

Leather isn't completly ou tof the question.
Thanksscottycoyote,I just plan on using it for carry anyway. I don't plan doing any of the other stuff thats been advertised with some of the other competition. Is your the reinforced one?

As long as i get a few years out of it is fine.

I use a Cabela's "last chance" belt. Works great. I had to send the first one back because they are cut long.

The wilderness belt is more expensive for a reason. It's a serious tool that you can trust your life to if needed. Uncle Mike's is the bargain basement maker of shooting products. Not saying they don't or can't work but the materials and craftsmanship are cheap. As a belt just for CC the Uncle Mike's is probably fine. It is not meant to be used as a safety belt like the one from the wilderness. Uncle Mike says their belt is "Styled after traditional rescue or riggers belts", not that it is intended to be used as one.

Blackhawk offers one that is a serious belt like the wilderness at a price point between the wilderness and uncle mike's.

yep mines reinforced, and i got a deal on mine off ebay was the reason i tried it, but so far ive been really happy with it. Id like to try out a wilderness belt or at least see one somewhere so i can compare them, but for carry only i cant imagine it being any better than the one i have

Michaels of OR/Unkle Mike's black nylon instructor belt...

I bought a new lined black nylon Unkle Mike's belt(1.75" wide) from Quartermaster, www.qmuniforms.com .

I got it in 2009 and still use it. Overall it's well made & can be used for duty, concealment or field use but it does have minor flaws.
The black coated metal buckle may show signs of minor rust or wear after a few months of regular use.
The coated nylon belt tab on the end may fray a bit too. The Unkle Mike's nylon belt has sides that are not coated or covered with material like some duty belts or tactical models. Strands of fabric or stiching may work loose.
These are minor wear issues that may occur with any nylon or synthetic fabric belt.
If you want to shop around, many gunners & armed professionals like www.thebeltman.net www.Blackhawk.com www.5.11tactical.com and/or Ken Null.
A polymer or synthetic belt; 1.50 or 1.75" may work too but cost more $.

Thanks guys. What ever i decide to buy will most likely be from E-bay. I'm shopping around and tryin to keep my options open with different types and brands. I will most likely buy one in a week or so. I'll have to post about it when i get one since belts are posted about too much.
