Gauge, ball size, # of RB per lb - good reference
In doing some searching in regards to difference in weight between .310 and .311 RB as well as several old "bag molds" I ran across, I came across this excellent chart - may be that the link has been posted before (don't know) but for those getting started, it's an excellent reference.
http://www.lasc.us/Brennan_GaugeWeight.htm Go to the home or index page as well - lots of other good information pertaining to cartridge as well Many of the old (antique) bag molds will have a number stamped on them and a lot of folks don't know that it represents the number of balls per pound of lead. This chart makes it an easy way to figure out the mold size.

You can also cube the diameter of the ball and then multiply by 1503 to get the ball's weight in grains.
Example, what does a .433 round ball weigh? .433 X .433 X .433 X 1503 = 122 grains
