Late 1970s Uberti Colt Army

I'd like to get replacement nipples for an 1860 I bought used about 6 months ago that is circa late 70s. Thread size is tighter and overall depth of the shaft is shorter than modern uberti nipples.

Could someone help me find the right nipple?

Based on this PDF: http://www.trackofthewolf.com/pdfs/catalog/page_388.pdf

I think I need the PIR..though the threaded section looks alittle long.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

You will get some good answers to your question.

One of the members will likely post a chart of the thread size and major diameter of the nipple holes in your revolver.

In the end, when you order, you will likely be speaking to one of the folks at Track of the Wolf. They will be helpful as well.

I don't see where the PIR is intended for your revolver; it looks to me like you need the PCC, but you need to call TOW and talk to them.

By the way, the thread length is unimportant - they thread into an open chamber.

Yes those older Ubertis used a 6.75 mm.thread, which is what Pieta is using now.
The problem is the Pieta nipples are too long, so when you order you will have to talk to some real person that knows something more than just catalog numbers.

The correct nipple is this one from the Possible Shop:

M6 x .75 x .500 Long
Fits Euroarms Revolver - (6 Per Package) 11-50-146 $31.95

http://possibleshop.com/s-s-nipples-cb.html.

They have the Pietta thread but is .020 shorter. and works on the older Ubertis.

Thanks everyone. I'll try those from the possible shop.

The nipples are exactly as you describe...I put a pietta nipple next it and its the same minus a few mm on the end.
