Savage Axis .270

I have a Savage 110 FP Tactical in 308 (great rifle). I'm looking for a rifle that is not as heavy, easier to carry around the woods and one that I can find ammo for. I am looking at the Axis in 270, does/can anyone tell me about the pros and cons of the Axis? Thanks

I love Savage, but I am thoroughly um-impressed with the Axis. Savage cheaped out a bit too much on it. Its fine for an economy rifle, but in my opinion Ruger has a decided edge on the Axis with their American.

Pro - it's cheap (inexpensive)
Con - it's cheap (crappy)

Savage makes lots of good rifles, but you already know that. The Axis/Edge was not indicative of the kind of firearms they can build.

You've posted essentially the same question multiple times.

Please don't do that. That just leads to thread dilution.

Closed in deference to the other thread on the Savage Axis, which has more responses.
