Movement on the M1 Front

A number of our senators and representatives are challenging the State Department's ban on the reimportation of M1 Garand and carbine rifles. I do not hold out a great deal of hope that they will overcome the reasoning of the department, but I am happy that the issue has gained attention in Congress.

I don't mind, really, if it turns out the rifles aren't in very great shape. The principal of the thing is the point. Plus, at the very least, some desireable parts may come out of it, in bulk. Imagine some nice cartouched stocks...

Likely import stamped junk - no big loss. What bothers me is the bloody principle of the matter. Washington buffoons.

No big loss unless you find a bunch of uncut oprods, short forks, lockbars, GAW stocks...
