Looking for a new scope and a ? re: Objective
I use two hunting rifles depending on the terrain. A Ruger #1 in 45/70 for woods hunting and a Rem 700 BDL in 30-06AI for fields. My scopes are a Zeiss Davari(1" tube, now Conquest) 3x9x36mm and a Leupold VXII 3x9x40mm. I am looking for a scope under $600ish that has slightly more magnification and more light gathering capabilities at dusk. I am moving the Zeiss back to the Ruger (both engagement gifts from the wife).
I was thinking a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14x44 or 3.5x10x44 or should I step up to the 50mm - I guess this would require new rings. Also are Zeiss Conquests worth the extra money? Should I be looking at other mfgs? Thanks, tjg |

Buy an honest moon scope not a variable Zeiss 8X56
Buy an honest moon scope not a variable Zeiss 8X56 or a Swarovski for ultimate light gathering. The new Leupold with a "dented" objective may suit you better at a lower price and sit better on the rifle.
