Barrel in bullets out, that's it.

Just make sure you use the right barrel for the right bullets

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are the magazines the same?

So yes....

The beauty of this is that the 40/357Sig combo you can shoot 2 calibers in the same gun. Just by switching the barrel. The slide, frame, mags are the same. The only thing you change is the barrel.

And with the Sig design - it's a simple matter of a few seconds to change between them.

The 357Sig cartridge is just a 40S&W necked down to accept a 9mm bullet. So the base of both cartridges are the same (40S&W). But a 40S&W will not fit into the 357Sig barrel but the 357Sig will fit in the 40S&W barrel. So be careful.

Always make sure you have the right ammo for the firearm.

Have fun with it. Notice the muzzle blast differences on the 357Sig. You'll get a lot of attention at the range. Make sure the lights are low. Can be very impressive. Either one will make a great range/self defense gun.
