M & P Shield
Just received my 9m Shield. The first thing I noticed was how tight the springs on the slide were. It almost flew out of my hand pulling it back. Has anyone else experienced this with theirs?

You mean the recoil spring? It will likely break in over time, but they can be pretty stiff on the smaller guns.

Mine felt about right, didn't notice it being any stiffer then any other pistol I've owned.
Once you shoot it a few times, you'll realize you've bought one of the most well liked pistols that's come down the pipe, pun intended, in a long time. My wife and I love her's. |

I was handling one in my LGS on Saturday and it felt fine to me.
Had I been able to justify to myself another new gun so soon, I would have probably brought that one home with me Saturday. |

The spring will break in a bit....trust me on that. I thought I'd have to go full Hulkamaniac the first time I broke down my 40. It got better after a few range trips

I have between 700-900 rounds through my Shield40 and I never had any real issues with the recoil spring that stood out to me, but then I am getting older and starting to forget minor details.

It is an excellent and very concealable pistol in my opinion. It will be interesting to see how the new XDs' in 9mm compare once they are introduced to the market.

Put 100 or 200 rounds through it and things will loosen up nicely. Never have had a single problem with mine.
