Finally got to the range. And chronoed both guns.

The 30-06 was shooting Average of ten rounds at. 2813. The shots in order are. 2807 2817 2817 2817 and 2806. That is a high to low difference of only 11 feet per second. Not sure how to calculate SD.

The 270 wsm five shots in order were. 2940 2952 2966 2949 and 2977. High to low difference of 37 feet per second still would like to know the standard deviation. By the way that was with a 150 grain ballistic tips seated to the lands with 67 grains of magpro.

I will look through the whole thread and I will pm the winner of the bullets I promised.

I win on the .30-06 I was only off by 1fps. I don't want the bullets though.

I believe OneOldSap would be the overall winner, if I'm not mistaken.

He's off by 13 on the 30-06 and 31 on the 270.

You win a box of sierra match king bullets 308 caliber in the 200 grain persuasion. If you want them that is.

And yes that load for the 30-06 groups very well. 3 shot groups hover around half an inch. That is with sierra game kings.

too late for me to guess, but I wasn't going to anyway.

What I was going to say is that my experience with chronos and several guns and loads is that the data in the loading manuals is pretty close, and individual guns will show individual differences. I have see as much as 100fps above, and below the published data from different guns, although usually it is much less. Rarely it is spot on, but that, I think is just serendipity.

The factory loads I chronoed were 150 grain power points. They were around 3150

Hooligan. I also chronod a few SST bullets out of them and the difference was negligable . The standard deviation was bigger for the SST.

I like your enthusiasm pathfinder. All I can say is I try to make certain that I shoot through the upper half of the screens. And the forward table is not as tall
